As in any large organization, COCK is broken into numerous departments and committees that handle specific areas of administration and together, help keep the church running smoothly. From the recesses of the Archival Office to the Chambers of the Council Of Deacons, every part of COCK is as important as the next. The following departments are some of those that the average member might encounter during their day to day involvement with the church. We hope it leads to a better understanding of your church. |

The Assembly Of Pastors is the main administrative body of the Church Of Christian Kindness, responsible for setting budgets, annual goals, approving the establishment of new branch churches and advising the Bishop on matters it feels important to the well being of COCK and it's members. All serving Pastors within COCK are automatically members of the Assembly and are expected to attend at least six sessions per year at Barnaby Hall in Saskatoon to maintain their rank and standing. Most business of the Assembly is conducted through daily meetings of the executive board, consisting of the leading Pastors from each of the seven COCK districts who are permanently posted in Saskatoon. A full Assembly is held every two months when all 419 Pastors from around the world are called to Barnaby Hall. Chairmanship of the Assembly Of Pastors is customarily held by the 1st Deputy Bishop, currently Deputy Bishop Coupe de Ville. |
The Council Of Deacons is an administrative body responsible for the disbursement of funds, approval of new members, and pre-liminary establishment of new branch churches (before final approval from the Assembly Of Pastors). The Council is also regarded and the representative body of the general membership as a whole. All serving Deacons within COCK are automatically members of the Council and are expected to attend at least three sessions per year at Barnaby Hall in Saskatoon to maintain their rank and standing. Most business of the Assembly is conducted through daily meetings of the executive board, consisting of the leading Deacons from each of the seven COCK districts who are permanently posted in Saskatoon. In 1997, Pastor Edward Rennie received a letter that touched his heart and would forever change the mandate of the Church Of Christian Kindness. The letter, from Father Martin Uzoma, documented the plight of orphans in the African Nation of Camaroon and Father Uzoma's efforts to provide them a stable upbringing. Pastor Rennie recognized the letter as an opportunity to redirect the wealth and energy of the Church of Christian Kindness and challenged his congregation to help Father Uzoma. Within a matter of weeks, the Church had gathered food, medical supplies and cash worth over $30,000 and arranged to have it delivered to Father Uzoma. We had helped the orphans and started a new chapter in the history of the Church of Christian Kindness. Since 1997, our Church has donated over $400,000,000 worth of cash and goods for the benefit of our brethren in Africa. Today, our African Mission program is under the oversight of Pastor Mike Oxwelling and routinely works to bring the love of Jesus Christ to the developing nations of Africa. |
Shortly after the formation of the Church Of Christian Kindness, Reverend Abel Caine recognized the unique nature of his creation and instituted the the CAO as the first formal organization within COCK. Charged with preserving every moment of COCK history for future reference and study, the CAO has an unprecedented quantity of film, audio, photographic and documents that detail the day to day operations of our Church. The current Director of the CAO is Pastor Minge Massengill |
From an era where the COCK finances were kept in a cigar box to an era where COCK is run like a major corporation, the Financial Office has been there, looking over the accounts with eagle like eyes. Responsible for the disbursement of charitable funds and the oversight of hundreds of millions in investment capital, the CFO is the true heartbeat of COCK. The Director of the CFO is Pastor Crimea River |
CLIT was formed in 1921 as a service to investigate members and applicants when suspicions of fraud were present. Although intended as an agency that would rarely be called upon, CLIT quickly became on of the most important branches of COCK. The Client Level Investigation Team is responsible for examining the background of new applicants and organizations trying to affiliate with COCK. If required, CLIT agents will infiltrate the community of any suspected applicant anywhere in the world and gain all needed intelligence on their target. Other responsibilities of CLIT include providing security services for all large functions of COCK, providing personal security services for the Bishop and providing temporary personal security services for any high ranking Pastor or Deacon who requests it. One of the most dangerous services in COCK, CLIT has lost 59 agents since inception, the most recent being three agents who disapeared in Nigeria in 2009. The Director of CLIT is currently Pastor Lincoln Towne-Carr |
If you're a COCK member, then you are already well acquainted with Member Services. This is the office that issues membership numbers, maintains and updates all application forms and handles your COCK Magazine subscription (North America Only). Member Services was founded in 1889, when it was noticed that COCK was growing too fast for the existing, informal membership system to keep up. Initially, the CMS office only recorded the names of new members, but by 1900 had begun issuing membership numbers and tracking personal progress. Today the CMS Office manages the files of over 1 million members around the world through its offices at Barnaby Hall at COCK World Headquarters. The current director is Pastor Samantha Taggert. |
